Last month, Vodafone Australia was forced to delay the Jelly Bean update for the Nexus S indefinitely, citing concerns over “Australian regulatory requirements related to emergency calls.”
Now it seems that they have worked out all the issues and are pushing out an over-the-air update to happy Nexus S users. Customers on Vodafone’s sub-carrier Crazy Johns (really) are also reporting Jelly Bean updates coming in.
Aussies, time to check your phones for updates!
UK’ers are now able to pre-order the highly anticipated Samsung Galaxy S III from several different carriers of choice. Vodafone, O2 and Three are all offering the ability to pre-order the device and to be among the first to receive the quad-core monster. In addition, it looks like you can score a decent deal with any one of the carriers if you plan on snagging the device. One could get the 16GB model for free with a £41 ($66) monthly plan on Vodafone. Similarly, you’ll be able to get a hold of the handset on O2 and Three for roughly the same monthly cost or pay up to £219 ($353) for slight less of a commitment to the carrier. If you’re ready to get rolling on the deal check out the source link of your choice and don’t forget to let us know what you think in the comments below.

It’s only a few weeks before we see the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone in Europe, so it’s safe to run out to your local mobile carrier to grab the 32GB version, right? Wrong. Most carriers will likely carry a 16GB version of the device at launch, but there’s one carrier that has an exclusive model that will be available. Vodafone UK announced through its Twitter page that it will indeed carry the 32GB model exclusively, in addition to the standard 16GB model. It looks like Vodafone is trying to have the leg up on attracting customers to its network thanks its newfound exclusivity.
The 16GB and 32GB versions of the smartphone will be available on May 30th. Feel free to start drooling in the meantime.

The Samsung Galaxy S III… or should we say the “Next Galaxy”, has not even been officially announced yet (that will happen May 3rd), and Vodafone UK is already confirming it will be getting the device. It’s certainly unusual for any carrier to announce it will be carrying a handset before it even has an official name, but it’s most likely going to most carriers in the UK anyway, so why not start hyping it up?

Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but those of you with a Vodafone Galaxy S II hoping for some Ice Cream Sandwich love today are going to be disappointed. For now the news isn’t all that bad as they still plan on having it available tomorrow via KIES and over the air by April 17. Here’s their statment
Unfortunately Samsung have told us this morning that they are unable to make the update available to you as planned.
The new plan from Samsung is that the update will be available via KIES tomorrow, 13th April, and via Over The Air update on Tuesday 17th April. If this moves at all, we’ll of course let you know.
I know a lot of you, like us, will be disappointed at this last minute change of plan and we continue to challenge Samsung to make this available to you as quickly as possible.
Let’s hope tomorrow brings some good news!!
