Yes, it’s slow (sloooow), unstable, and the hardware’s prehistoric, but it’s Jelly Bean — based on a port of CyanogenMod 10 — and it’s running on the T-Mobile G1 (aka HTC Dream). T-Mobile is offering a sale on their HTC One S for $149.99 paired with a two year agreement. While the sale will be offered through the 21st of this month, I don’t see why T-Mobile doesn’t make it a permanent price drop. Considering AT&T’s higher spec’d HTC One X has already seen a permanent price drop to $99, the One S should be offered for at least that, or perhaps even lower considering it’s dubbed as “mid-tier.”
Either way, the One S still offers top of the line specs (minus the screen size and resolution) and appeals to many. Although keep in mind that T-Mobiles rumored HTC One X+ may be around the corner so you may want to save your upgrade until then.

Have you recently picked up a shiny new HTC One S and have noticed that the GPS seems to lock-on rather slow? This isn’t a largely widespread complaint but when something can be improved the Android dev community will never shy from a challenge. Thanks to senior XDA member, MacroHD, we now have a flashable fix for you rooted users and has been proven to speed up the phone’s GPS lock. Simply download the file that pertains to the country you have service in and flash that zip through your custom recovery. One thing should be mentioned, though. MacroHD says that the fix will not be instantaneous because your device needs to redownload new A-GPS data. You can either flash the fix while you have a data connection and be patient for the device to update itself, or you can simply download the new A-GPS data yourself. To do this you will just need to grab the GPS Status app from the Play Store and use that to manually install the A-GPS data yourself. Easy enough!

You T-Mobile HTC Sensation 4G users have had a rough patch lately, watching as other Sensation users around the world receive the Ice Cream Sandwich update before you. Looks like you won’t have to wait much longer, let alone until June 16th, as T-Mobile just announced on the device’s support page that ICS testing has been successfully completed and the official roll-out should begin “very soon.”
May 2 News: The Android 4.0 (ICS) update for the HTC Sensation 4G has completed its testing process and we expect it to be available very soon. Please stay tuned for an official communication from T-Mobile regarding how and when you’ll be able to receive the update.
I know the thought of an ICS update along with a fresh version of Sense sounds rather appealing, I should inform you that based on other HTC ICS updates, it looks as though you will receive Sense 3.6 (Sense 4 Lite) instead of Sense 4. Still better than nothing, no? Either way, keep an eye out for the new update to be hitting your device any day now. Let’s just hope T-Mobile’s version of “very soon” is same same as yours and mine!

The T-Mobile HTC One S smartphone had just been released recently and it’s more than lived up to it’s billing of being a solid buy. While it’s no doubt a good device out of the box, there is the noticeable issue of significant battery drain while using the WiFi calling feature. Apparently, the battery seems to drain faster while being on a WiFi-based call— which points out to a software issue somewhere. To that end, HTC and T-Mobile have acted quickly to ensure this isn’t a continuing problem and are currently working on a minor software patch which is aimed to improve the battery life of the device when making WiFi calls. No word on when exactly this patch will hit the devices but hey, we always welcome software updates which offer an improved experience for owners— so we won’t mind the wait.

According to TmoNews, they got their hands on what is believed to be the official ICS rollout dates for the Samsung Galaxy S II, HTC Sensation 4G, and HTC Amaze 4G. They were able to acquire a leaked 2012 T-Mobile enterprise calendar that also outs the dates these devices should receive the illustrious update. The T-Mo Galaxy S II is scheduled for May 14th, and the Sensation 4G and Amaze 4G are slated for June 16th. As always, this may end up changing and until we hear anything official I wouldn’t bet on anything. We will let you know if we hear anything more.

Could it be that Google Wallet is no longer exclusive to specific networks? The application started its life as a Sprint exclusive and more recently became available on AT&T. Many of you out there have managed to sideload the application thanks to the work of websites such as XDA developers however it appears that you can now grab it directly from Google Play.
Our friends at Engadget managed to download and run the app from a Galaxy Nexus with a T-Mobile sim. They hadn’t got around to paying for anything with it yet so it looks like that’s one final hurdle still to be negotiated. Well gang the time has come if you’ve been anticipating the official arrival of the T-Mobile HTC One S smartphone. T-Mobile has unleashed the smartphone and now lists the device for a smooth $199.99 (after a $50 mail-in rebate) on-contract or $599.99 outright. In case you’ve forgotten, the device features a snappy 1.5GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor, Android 4.0 + Sense 4.0, Beats Audio and some impressive camera software for you folks who love taking quality photos. Let’s see how long it is before T-Mobile sells out of this puppy.

T-Mobile is bent on keeping their MyTouch branding alive and well and there’s no secret that the company has been in cahoots with Huawei to become the hardware manufacturer of the next gen device. That being said, a device strongly resembling the Ascend G312 has reared its little frame over at the FCC revealing the MyTouch moniker and dubbed the “U8680″. Could this be the next qwerty variant of the MyTouch line? The FCC docs and pics reveal that there is compatibility with HSPA, UMTS, EDGE and GPRS technologies. We know the device Huawei plans to release is a 4-inch WVGA res’d device which will have ICS 4.0 on board. There will also be a 1.4GHz Qualcomm MSM8255T SoC and 1GB or RAM running on the device.
